60 Foot lady 04:32
Any way you wanna, talk this up, or talk this down Baby coming over, coming up and over town Any way you see it, make it real to make it right Baby’s coming over, coming over town tonight She can miles - over your head She can see further - than ever you did Here she comes heavy - no sound at all Picking me up. Makes me feel small, Small, the earth just seems so small, the problems that you had ,are falling by the wayside. 60 foot Lady, come on now and save me, Save me from this tragedy, Of everyday reality Hush now Hush now - Here she comes heavy - no sound at all Doesn’t really matter , which way you go Hush now, baby’s coming up and over Hush now , carries me upon her shoulder Hush now, the view is good it goes forever Hush now - Hush now 60 foot Lady, come on now and save me, Save me from this tragedy, Of everyday reality…. 60 foot Lady, come on now and save me, Save me from this tragedy, Of everyday reality…..

Red Moon Ray 05:14
Hold tight I need a good night I need to sleep tight in my lovers arms Last night just a few more hours I I want to to dream past this false alarm Cold rays and we are tricked ey We lie transfixed and dazed on this frosty lawn Wake up wake up come and see it Red Moon ray a vision splendour Surrender and know that it’s been calling calling The Sun the Moon the Earth align We could not wait to be outside A tiny chance before the glow oh oh o oh o o First Light and I have stage fright But we might do right arm in arm Sing songs it’s such an old one And we have been found underground Rise up the tin man calls you the trumpet lures you with all its charms Pap pap pap pap Can you hear it Pap pap pap pap come and see it Surrender and know that it’s been calling calling The Sun the Moon the Earth align We could not wait to be outside A tiny chance before the glow oh oh o oh o o Hold me……hold me…..hold me……

about

Here it is. Art rockers Victoriana Gaye’s 4th release - “Red Moon Ray” a 6 track mini album or extended EP. Accompanied by the psychedelic wonderment of an animated film clip directed by Jeff Raglus for the first single - “60 Foot Lady”.

After touring for 4 months around the UK and Europe in 2014, the pair ended up staying and performing in Le Cote de Basque area of South West France, this is where most of the songs for “Red Moon Ray” were written. Returning to Australia and the Parkside studio in Winter 2015 with the amazing Ross McLennan on bass, good friend Simon Dawe on drums and long time musical associate Bruce Haymes at the controls, Victoriana Gaye have put down a testament of where they’re at.

Acoustic guitar, electric guitar, trumpet and shared lead-harmony singing is the backbone of the Victoriana Gaye sound. On this recording they’ve added bass and drums (and nothing else) enhancing and electrifying their normal live duo sound. The songs themselves run in style from the Bacharach meets King Tubby-ish “60 Foot Lady”, through to the psych/folk/rock of title track ‘Red Moon Ray’.

Vicki Gaye Philipp and Jeff Raglus have packed a lot into the 6 years since they formed. Recording 4 albums, “Five Songs”, “Our Pleasure’’,”Holy Roll’’and now “Red Moon Ray”. They have played their original tunes at festivals and venues in The UK, Europe, Japan, New Caledonia and round Australia.

‘Voices that curl like smoke around each other in harmonies that intertwine but are still individual...songs that talk about feelings found washed up at high tide. Victoriana Gaye are that rare thing; a progressive, sophisticated adult pop duo’. Chris Wilson 2015
